Hello and welcome to my page, dedicated to my ongoing work on my story Théone.

Théone is a contemporary fantasy set in a world torn apart by war following the tales of Carge Dawnstrider; a young soldier whose life is turned upside down by the conflict and embarks on a journey of self discovery to better understand his place in the world.

Carge is a Théoneon, a race of light furred anthromorphic felines who are native to the region of Théone. The Théoneons have long been at war with the Syndroh'ssil, a barbaric race of corrupted Théoneons who cannot stand the light of day and have been forced to build empires underground.

When the Race of Men discovered Théone, the quickly found themselves under assault from the Syndroh'ssil and formed an alliance with the Théoneons. With Man being more technologically advance as a race the Théoneons soon began merging into Human Society mainly in the form of a lower class work force.

But a few Théoneons were given special purpose and were trained as a shadow operations unit known as the Ash'Khan who for the coming generations were pivotal in the war against the Syndroh'ssil. Carge is one of the Ash'khan's latest operatives.

Unfortunately for Carge his life takes a turn for the worse when the Ash'Khan Village is destroyed with only himself and three other members surviving.

This is the beginning of Carge's story...

Théone is the title of a longtime story concept I have been working away at for nearly a decade now (I came up with Carge as a character when I was 11 :D) over time it has changed and evolved as I myself got older and matured.

Théone itself is the name of the region in which the story takes place. Amidst a war against the Syndroh'ssil each of the three countries that make up Théone struggle to maintain order and protects its land.

The lead character is Ka'aj (Carge) Dawnstrider; a young Théoneon soldier who is part of a special operations sect of the Astran Military. When his village is raided by Syndroh'ssil at the stories outset Carge loses his parents and village and finds his older brother, Theskar, absent from the dead.

With the handful of survivors Carge leaves his ruined home and vows to search for his brother.

During his search the remaining survivors are murdered, a feat that only one of there own members could accomplish, and soon becomes that last living member aside from his, still missing, brother.

Not long after the last murder and attempt is made on Carge's life, managing to defend himself Carge pursues his assailant to an abandoned mine shaft; known to be in the control of the Syndroh'ssil.

Facing his quarry in one of the mines large chambers he is shocked to discover the perpetrator to be non other than Theskar.

Theskar shows little regard to his brother and openly confesses to murdering the other survivors and giving the Syndroh'ssil their villages location. Seeing that his brother has lost his mind Carge has no choice but to face his brother in combat and eventually succeeds, but not before Theskar reveals that he himself killed their parents.

With nowhere to call home, no family left to confide in and no purpose to his life Carge succumbs to depression (Although it's medically Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and struggles to cope with his life.

From here Carge's story follows his struggle to deal with his PTSD; becoming reclusive and bitter and seeing himself as little more than a tool for war. But it is from the events that occurs afterward, the people he befriends and the causes he fights for that he begins to realise who he is and that (at the urging of his friends mind you) he is a good person, who has people who care about him.

Long story short Théone centers around Carge's journey of self-discovery, his overcoming of his depression and his new life in Théone.

A little bit of behind the scenes for this journal I feel as I haven't written anything since December (and was drunk when I did that :/)

Théoneons and by extension Syndroh'ssil are my own races designed over the course of many years with some aspects of them be it physical, cultural, spiritual or other still developing or evolving as time goes on.

Originally when I came up with the character Carge Dawnstrider he was just a name without any physical body and, inspired by fantasy epics such as Lord of the Rings, I developed a world for him to exist in and reconciled on having multiple races. Like Tolkein's universe my story would of had Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Trolls and other typical fantasy races alongside a few of my own design.

However around this time I had settled on the name Théone and with that a native race named Théoneons but without any form with which they could take shape. Also I had made a conscious decision to omit Elves and other such races, bar the Race of Men, from the world altogether seeing as how they have been used time and time again in other fantasy works I chose to do something different.

Having removed the stereotypical fantasy races from my universe I was left without a race to become the antagonists and still had no idea what a Théoneon would look like, however other inspirations came along to get the ball rolling.

I had once in my childhood been a fan of an old Hanna-Barbera cartoon called Swat Kats. In Swat Kats the story was populated by sentient anthropomorphic felines called Kats and the two protagonists, T-Bone and Razor, were two pilots for a paramilitary police force who after disobeying their commanding officer were reprimanded and sent to work in a scrapyard as punishment. Discontent in their new positions as junkyards mechanics in an airplane graveyard they salvaged parts and built their own, high-tech, supersonic, jet fighter to become vigilante heroes known as the Swat Kats.

My interest in having a highly trained, specialist elite soldier as a protagonist became apparent also the idea of having him, after some event, becoming a vigilante hero soon followed and thus the name Carge Dawnstrider was given a title and purpose in the world of Théone and also a body.

Realising that as a race that would be a main story focus I needed Théoneons to be translatable to something in the real world so that the audience could have a familiarity to them. Having grown up with at least one cat at any one time in my household and rekindling my love of the Swat Kats my next step was simple.

Taking the anthropomorphic felines as a base I designed Théoneons much in the same manner and in a very short space of time became the tall, white furred, feline-like race they are today.

But what about the antagonists? I still had no design for them and with all my efforts spent on creating the good Théoneons making an opposing race seemed insurmountable of a task. But then it hit me like a pie to the face, why not base this race of the Théoneons?...

Crafting a background and story for this race's creation the Syndroh'ssil were born with the same ideals as the Théoneons only the reverse; a race not based off of anything in reality breaking any familiarity with the audience making it harder for the audience to like them and easier still for the audience to accept them as a fitting antagonist.

And that more or less is how Théone's races have came to be. I suppose there was no reason to type this out but who knows maybe someone will find it an interesting read.

Also though my story contains anthropomorphic characters I consider myself in no way a ''furry''. Honestly, a lot of the recurring themes I see in the anthro gallery of DA disturb me.

...Uhm, yeah, well this is me, bored, after coming back from the pub to post about...well I don't know.

Oh the new alter bridge album is epic!

Uhm yeah, I don't have many followers, watchers or whatnot but I suppose its only fair to say I'm like stupidly behind due with arty things, spent alot of the past few months working the finale for Théone jotting down new scenes and what not, will probably replace this space with a prologue of sorts when I get round to it.

So that's about it from me. Welcome suggestions for something to do...

"The Syndrohssil never used to be the wretched creatures they are today. Once they were Théoneons no different from us, but greed and the hunger for power stained their minds and souls. They sought to overthrow the gods from control of the world and attain the control for themselves." Carge said as he dragged a Syndrohssil corpse from a bush.

"Why did they not succeed?" Mica asked, onlooking Carge carrying the body.

The body was a heap of stringy muscle and sinew, dyed in blood and reeking of a bitter, diseased smell. Carge began checking the belongings of the Syndrohssil for anything of use; to which there was nothing.

"Well, legend has it that two tribes were approached by this disloyal cult of Théoneons. Both were appauled when offered to join the cults ranks and become apart of thier scheme. Unsure of what action to take, the two rebelling tribes informed the gods of the treachery which was happening." Carge continued as he walked over to a nearby stream to wash his hands of blood.

"The gods were at first sceptical of what was said, but Myaaru the goddess of the divine balance foresaw such an uprising was inevitable." Carge returned to Mica's side by the camp fire she was sitting by. He squated down beside her and tossed some fire wood onto the embers.

"Myaaru used her powers and disguised herself as one of the cult members and oversaw what they were planning. After their intentions were made clear she enacted retribution on them. She   cast them off to her realm Myaar..."

"The realm of the underworld?!" Mica enquired in a shocked tone.

"Yes, there they were punished for the plans they had made and treason they had sown. They were burned in the very fires of Myaar til their fur was black and matted, their skin turned to scale and dark like shadow. Horns grew upon there heads; forever labelling them as traitors to the god's will. Once they were released they could not face the sunlight on the surface anymore, too scarred from the fire's power. They sought refuge underground in caves and caverns throughout Théone, kept apart from those who sided with the gods."

Carge looked towards the body and snarled under his breath.

"From that day they have waged war on the Théoneons and sought revenge on the two tribes which caused their downfall. They adopted a new language and embraced shadow and blood magic; that's why they are called Syndrohssil." (Plagued Ones in ancient Théoneon)

"What became of the two tribes?" Mica interjected cautiously, stirred by Carge's story.

"It is said the two tribes were gifted with a fraction of the gods power, to act as enforcers incase another uprising was to occur. But it is not known what powers they recieved. It's not even known if those two tribes exist today!" Carge seemed cynical as he utters the last sentence, seemingly unbelieving of such a story himself. He looked at Mica who was wrapping a new grip around her bow; she seemed to believe the story.

"In any case we are at war with the Syndrohssil and without the aid of the race of Men we wouldn't be sitting here right now. We owe it to the humans to aid them where we can; for saving are race from the marauding horde of Plagued Ones." Carge added cleaning one of his swords with an old rag. The night was soon upon them and the campfire had almost gone out, Carge rose to his feet an looked deep into the woods and took a smell of the air.

"They're coming...ready?" Carge growled in a stern voice.

Springing to her feet Mica, notched an arrow on her bowstring and aimed into the trees.

"Ready!" she said with a smile.

Carge smiled back at her and with that the two dashed into the forest, as the sounds of Syndrohssil warcries echoed throughout...
